Reflection on this year

This year has by far been the craziest. So much has happened. In March I had Madi. Which was the most beautiful and the most painful thing that happened to me. She is getting bigger and bigger everyday and it makes me want to cry every time she conquers a milestone, but I know that she can't be a baby forever even though I want her to. She has truly filled my life with so much joy.

Britt had surgery on his knee in Feb and hasn't been to work since! Blah. Having him home is nice, but my lord. It's almost been a year since he has worked! ha I can't believe it, but thank god for workmen's comp. I don't know what we would have done without it. He is healing nicely. He isn't able to do certain things he used to, but I am just glad no more surgeries for right now. He had two in 4 months. Hopefully he will be able to get an awesome job this year so things can get back to normal around the house.

We got full custody of my Step Daughter in March and that was another highlight. No more having to worry about her crazy egg donor anymore. She is such a smart child and I am so happy that she is here with us now and safe. She grows more and more each day and I love her so much.

We went on our first family trip to tennessee this summer and it was so awesome! So many moutains and just open land. Even though we had two car seats, a 65 pound dog, a weiner dog and Britt and I in a 4 door Honda for a 12 hour trip. The trip was still fun! Haha

I think I have grown up a lot this year. 2008 did bring some stress to my life, but I don't regret anything I've done. I'm just so blessed I have my family and friends. And that's really all I need. So bring it on 2009. I'm ready.

Too Fast

So yesterday I was lifting up Madi in the air and she gave me the biggest smile. When I realized. SHE HAS FOUR TOP TEETH! I about shit myself. Hahaha I can't believe it. It's like they just popped out over night. I can't believe she is going to be 9 months next week. I am just beside myself. I want her to stay my little pumpkin forever. Next thing you know she is going to be bringing some crazy boy to my house saying "momma this is ted" . ugh. I'm not even ready for that yet!!!

Alyssa is getting big too. She is almost 5 in Feb. Even though I haven't been there for her whole life. I have been here for the last 2 years and the past 2 years have been crazy! She has went from this babbling 3 year old to this shaking head and shaking finger almost 5 year old! haha She gets it from me *blush*.

Life is going good. I couldn't complain right now about much.

CoSleeping Hell

So. For the past 4 months I have had Madison in the bed sleeping with us. I get no sleep whatsoever. All she wants to do is nurse and play! I really thought that I would cosleep partime. Like she would sleep in her crib most of the night.. And then maybe around 4 or 5 in the morning she would sleep with us. Yeah. Not happening. She is up atleast every hour bursting out into a scream wanting to nurse. I feel like a cow sometimes. Everyone is wanting me to just let her CIO (Cry it out) I just can't. I can't do it. I feel that damages a child. So I guess I just will be getting no sleep until she grows out of this stage. I am just so tired though.

Rear Facing Importance

I just posted about the importance of Rear Facing. Please everyone look at the links. It's so important to keep a child rear facing as long as possible!

So Nervous

So Thanksgiving is on Thursday. I have a knot in my stomach. Britt and I are hosting this Thanksgiving and I am so nervous. I mean it's family! I shouldn't be so nervous! I guess I just want to do a good job and I want my family to like what I cooked. I hope they do. We got the turkey today. I fourteen pounder! I'm really excited to cook it! I hope it turns out good!

Not really much going on. Madi starting crawling.

She has been doing the army crawl for about two months. I never thought she would crawl. I thought she would just go to walking. But the little pumpkin decided to crawl yesterday. I couldn't even express what I felt when I saw her do it. It's crazy how this little person can get me so choked up. I love her so much and I am so happy I get to see her grow and do all the little cool things. It was awesome seeing her crawl for the first time. I put a little car infront of her and tried to see if she would go for it and she finally did! I'm glad I got it on tape so I can show her when she get's older! :-D

The sickness has taken over my house. Strep Throat. BLAH. I really hope Madi and me don't get it. I'm such a wuss when it comes to things like that.

I can't wait for the day after Thanksgiving and all the SALES!! I'm going shopping with my Momma and Regina! I still have lots of shopping to do. *Booty Dance*

I lost 4 pounds in one day

I don't think I have ever been so sick in my life. I pretty used to throwing up because thats what I did my whole pregnancy, but my goodness yesterday was horrible. I was so sick. I started throwing up in the morning and didn't stop until 8 at night. I lost 4 pounds yesterday. Not bad! Haha. I wish I would lose more!! This baby weight is still not completely gone! I wish it would go away! But yeah yesterday sucked. I really hope Madi doesn't get it. If she doesn't I will feel so bad. Seeing a baby like that throw up is not cool. eh. I feel better today though. It's crazy that I don't clean for one day and the house looks like a torando came threw.

History was made

History was made this past Tuesday. The emotions that popped in my head that night were unexplainable, but I'm going to try and tell you how I felt. I felt as if when my daughter grows up ,and I tell her she can be anything she wants to be even president it will be true now. Tears came down my face as soon I saw Barack Obama walk out on to the stage. Making History. It was such an historic event to many. I as a Biracial person( Black and White) and so amazed at this moment. I have dealt with racism in my life. Not only from White people, but also from Black people. It is so amazing to see how many people voted for Barack. This gives me hope that my child won't even know racism. Won't know hate. Whether you don't like Barack or do you. Just know this made history. And made so many people happy. Change is coming.

Happy Halloween!!

Well two days late, but whatever! Anyways our Halloween was awesome! We went to Greenbrier Mall and went trick or treating there. It's a lot safer than going to people's houses!! Madi was a pink kitty and Alyssa was a scary witch!

I love those kids! They're so cute! I wanted Madi to be a monkey, but I couldn't find a monkey costume! Bad Me went shopping a little late for the costumes! It's okay though! They looked cute anyways!!

Life has been well. Life. Britt and I have been not really getting along that well at all. We are trying are best not to argue, but when you have two personalities that are stubborn it's kind of hard not to. I don't like conflict, but if you piss me off it's on. I do love him more than anything. I mean I've been with him for 3 1/2 years and married for two. I want to work on things had be "that couple". It's just hard.

But on a better note. VOTE FOR OBAMA ON TUESDAY!! VOTE FOR A CHANGE!!

Pickin' Pumpkins!

We went and got the girls their pumpkins today! It was a lot of fun, but cold. Madi seemed more interested in putting hay in her mouth haha. Alyssa got a decent size one and carried it around the whole time we were there. We got Madi a little tiny one for her! I can't wait to carve them!!

So I will be going back to school for the Spring Semester. I'm excited! I need to get it done and over with!! I have always hated school, but I know in the long run this will better myself and my family!

School...or no School? That is the question

I don't know what to do. I really want to go back to school. I only have a year left to get my associate's degree. I am just terrified to leave Madi with a babysitter. I also probably couldn't continue breastfeeding, and right now I'm not willing to do that. I will probably do online classes this coming up semester. ugh... but online classes are so blah. It's really hard to learn on them. I took online classes when I was big and pregnant with Madi and I failed one of my classes on their. I don't know what I'm going to do, but I need to make a decision now or i'm going to have to start paying on my school loan. Boo on that. I've always hated school. Honestly...if I could win the lottery and just be a stay at home momma and pop out 18 kids like that Duggar woman..I would. I have always wanted a big family, but that's just not in the cards for me I guess. I really wish I could just stay at home and take care of Madi and Alyssa. I know that's just not possible though. Britt is in school now too. He likes it, but I know it's a struggle for him. He's such a slacker...haha he doesn't like to do his work. Just like me. I am a slacker when it comes to school. I always have been. I was a MAJOR slacker in highschool. I honestly don't even know how I graduated..I guess begging Ms.Mitchell or something I don't know.ugh I really need to make a decision about school...blahhhhhh

Madi's Cloth Diapered heiny!!

I know I know too cute. I love it. I can't believe a year ago I thought Cloth Diapers were gross and blah blah blah, but I love them. They save us a lot of money and they are a hell of a lot more I guess you can say "greener" than disposiable diapers.

It's crazy because this time last year I wasn't all into this stuff. Having a child of my own made me open my mind and made me think about the things I put into my body and the things I put on my child or what I feed her. I don't look down on Formula Feeding moms, but my choice is to Breastfeed mine. I don't think anyone should be looked down on because of what they feed their child. I think sometimes people think Breastfeeding is "gross" or "not natural" (i've heard that many times) and I think that is ludacris. I mean what do people think babies ate before formula came along? They were either feed by their mother or by a wet nurse ( a person who breastfeeds the child who is not the mother). People also I think have a problem with seeing older children breastfeed. The nation average of weaning from the breast is four. Yes four. I plan on Breastfeeding till she is two.

Since we are on the subject of Breastfeeding I think it's hilarous when people give me stares when I feed her in public I think it's funny. Like I am doing something "wrong". When I'm just feeding my child. Like if they see a quick glance of my boob they are going to die. Like they have never seen a boob before! I see it like this. Would you rather listen to a crying screaming baby? or see a little boob real quick while I feed my child? haha anyways... I think that's enough rambling... :-D

I am just spending money left and right..haha and Britt hates it..Whatever..It's in the best interest of our child!

I'm really excited to watch the VP debate tonight..I think it will be funny...I think I will pop some popcorn and watch Palin make an idiot out of herself. Ha

Growing baby..and some other stuff

Madi had her 6 month check up today. I can't believe it's been 6 months since that little peanut was in my belly. I miss it.. but oh well. Anyways she is 16 lbs 6 oz and 26 inches. I can't believe how much she has grown!! She is doing some much now too. Sitting up, playing with things, throwing those things. Screaming on the top of her lungs just to get my attention and then make cutest smiley face in the world. She is an awesome baby let me tell you what. Besides the whole wanting to sleep with us in the bed...But I know she will grow out of it so whatever. She's not crawling yet, but she is trying!! Haha it's so cute seeing her little hiney trying to crawl. I love my baby !! For you viewing pleasure I posted some pics!

She has a tooth now too!!

Gosh she is beautiful huh!?

Anyways..About this whole Presidental Election and stuff. I am absolutely for Obama. I mean seriously..John McCain is going to croke at any second and if he becomes president then we will have to deal with dimwitt Sarah Palin. Give me a break she is an idiot. Did you see her interview with Charles Gibson and Katie Couric? Let's be real people. Vote Obama in November. I'm telling you. You will see a change for the good. I know people are like "a black man for president?" give me a break on the crap. It's not about race here. It's about what's good for our country, and Obama IS good for our country. nuff said.

Exhausted

I haven't gotten a good night sleep in over a month now. Madison has decided she wanted to make my bed her permanent place to sleep at night. Yeah. It's not very comfortable on a queen size bed with a Britt on one side and Madison clutched onto my bra strap and sucking my boob dry. Hey a little tmi, but oh well. I just want this child to sleep in her crib again!! I hope soon. Cause I am just so tired. She has always been a good sleeper. Up until about a month ago. Then Bam she cried and cried until I put her in the bed with us. Bah..... I'm sleepy...I'm going to bed....

Remembering...

I hung out with my cousin Talya today. She's 17 and reminds me so much of me when I was that age. She looks a lot like me too. We just had a long talk about everything going on in our lives, and it was awesome. She is such a cool kid. Ha. I remember when we were little and we would play our stupid "pretend games"...I guess in a nut shell what I am trying to say is... I miss being that her age. I miss being in High School and not having a care in the world. I miss just hanging out with my friends and playing "piDiddle" in the back seat of Stroup's truck..* ahhh the memories* haha I miss eating lunch with my friends on the floor near the gym...*I know! Why we ate on the floor I have no clue* I miss the thrill of trying to out run the securtiy guards when we skipped classes. I miss the friendships I had with people...I miss all of the laughter and the crazy times I had with people....I miss the drama..haha yeah I know but I do sometimes..it's weird...when I was in high school I couldn't wait to get out...now I want to go back..my life was care free...all I had to really worry about was making sure I took first period attendance card( so I could skip) haha and make sure I was home before my mom so I could get the call that I wasn't in school..ohh the memories..

Teething

Teething is the worst thing in the world at this present moment. I have never heard a baby scream like that in my whole entire life. She is so miserable, but she has a toofer now. One little one just cut the surface yesterday. I've been trying really hard to use "natural" ways to relieve her pain ex. a cold cloth, teething toys, teething necklace, but none of those were doing anything. So I broke down and gave her oragel. She felt better and went right to sleep. I think if it get's that bad again I'll use it, but it's not going to be a staple to relieve her pain. I hope all this teething business is over soon. Even though I know it won't be. :-(

Getting Started

Well.... I can't believe I'm doing this, but I feel like I have a lot to say at times so this is why I started a blog. Last night Madison did not sleep at all. She is in the phase of not wanting to sleep in her crib and just sleep with me. Yeah so I haven't gotten that much sleep at all. So if my typing is mess up. That's why. Today was a hard day. It's so hard having a four year old and a almost six month old. It seems as if Alyssa is always testing, pushing limits and seeing "her boundaries" when does it end!?!? I just want one day where she just listens, but I have to remind myself that she is four. She is going to act like this sometimes.

It is crazy I think I want another baby? I think I do. I know Madison is only six months old, but I can't help it. I want more kids. Maybe right now is not the best time, but we went to JcPenny today to go see about how much a family potrait would be, and I saw this not even week old baby so small, so tiny, and so cute. I miss it. I miss when they are that small. I feel like Madison now does not really need me that much anymore. I mean I am her food source, but she can entertain herself at times. I don't know what I'm saying I guess I'm just blabbing. Anyways this is my new blog...some days will be just this blabbing.
